The signs have been installed on most tourist streets in Bai Chay and other major streets and residential areas in the city center.

The move aims to make travel easier for foreigners when visiting the city.

Mr. Vu Hong Son, Deputy Chairman of Ha Long City People’s Committee, said it was necessary to install the bilingual signs because Ha Long is now an international tourist city.

International visitors to Ha Long increase each year, with an average of about 3.2 million visitors annually.

According to the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, 1 million international visitors have visited Ha Long this year, mostly from Northeast Asia.

Other major cities around Vietnam are also piloting the installation of bilingual street signs.
