The 1.3-hectare park will display various statues featuring fairy tales and legends of Vietnam and the world, which are made entirely of natural sand by sculptors from 12 countries worldwide.
Nguyen Duc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan, vowed to support the project, expressing his hope that the park will be a draw to attract more tourists to the beach city.
Meanwhile, Marielle Heessels, a Dutch sculptor, said she visited Vietnam for the first time and was inspired by people and nature here. She hopes her future works will enthrall tourists and locals.
On September 30, the first statue, a work of Marielle Heessels, Leonardo Ugolini from Italy and Enguerrand David from Belgium , will be unveiled.
The park is scheduled to open in late January 2017.
