Bitcoin has plunged sharply, breaking below the $70,000 mark during overnight trading in the US and moving toward $60,000 in the morning of February 6.
The cryptocurrency market is facing another sharp downturn, with Bitcoin breaking below the critical $80,000 threshold and approaching $77,000 per coin during Asian trading hours on February 1.
Bitcoin extended its three-week decline during the Asian trading session on November 17, plunging at one point to nearly $93,000 per coin - its lowest level since late September 2025.
As Bitcoin’s price surged past the $100,000 mark, the price of Pi - a digital currency from the Pi Network project - also experienced a slight uptick, now trading around $0.70 per Pi. However, this remains nearly 76% lower than its all-time high.
A recently issued decree has, for the first time, defined the concept of electronic money as "the equivalent value in VNĐ stored by electronic means".
Nearly 120,000 units of digital currency bitcoin worth about US$72 million was stolen from the exchange platform Bitfinex in Hong Kong, making it the second-biggest security breach ever of such an exchange.
