On August 30, Nguyen Dinh Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Hop District, Nghe An, provided an initial update on the two consecutive explosions that occurred in Quyet Tien Hamlet, Tam Hop Commune, and outlined the proposed response measures.

The first explosion occurred on August 27, resulting in the deaths of a married couple. The incident prompted an investigation by the district police and Nghe An provincial police to determine the cause.

Following the incident, the family of the deceased transported their bodies for cremation and returned the ashes to the home where the explosion occurred.

However, on August 29, while the family was cleaning up the site using hired labor and machinery, a second explosion occurred, severely injuring two men. The exact nature of the materials that caused both explosions has not yet been identified.

In response, district leaders, including representatives from the District Party Committee, People's Committee, Military Command, and Police, immediately arrived at the scene to manage the situation and mitigate the aftermath.

To ensure the safety of residents living near the explosion site, the People's Committee of Quy Hop District cordoned off six neighboring houses and evacuated all residents to a safer location.

The district authorities have submitted a formal request to the Nghe An Provincial Military Command for assistance in bomb and mine clearance to ensure the area is safe for investigators to carry out their duties.

The latest update indicates that the health condition of the two injured victims has gradually stabilized.
