Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy won a bronze medal in the women's 52kg at the Hungary Judo Cup in Budapest on Sunday.

Thuy, who won gold at the Southeast Asian Games in the women's 52kg, had three wins and one loss to finish third.

Her fellow Vietnamese representative Nguyen Thi Quynh finished fifth.

Thuy and Quynh are members of Viet Nam's national judo team. They are in a two-month training session in Hungary with the aim of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

According to coach Nguyen Duy Khanh, the event featured many of Hungary's national judokas and international athletes so it gave Vietnamese athletes a chance to hone their skills and gain experience.
