The congress also introduced the newly elected 119-member Central Committee.

Bui Quang Huy, a member of the Party Central Committee and Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, was re-elected as First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee for the 13th term.

Born in 1977 in Nghe An Province, Bui Quang Huy holds a master's degree. His career has been closely associated with Youth Union work, student associations and youth movements.

From 2000 to 2010, he worked at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City while serving as a member of the 9th Youth Union Central Committee.

Since 2010, he has successively held the positions of Head of the Youth Union's School Affairs Department, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam National Union of Students, Head of the Youth Union's Organization Department, Secretary of the 11th Youth Union Central Committee, President of the Vietnam National Union of Students, Standing Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee, and First Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee from 2022.

He currently serves as a Standing Committee member of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central mass organizations, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and a member of the 16th National Assembly.

The Central Committee also re-elected Nguyen Minh Triet, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee and President of the Vietnam National Union of Students, as Standing Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee.

The three Secretaries of the Youth Union Central Committee are Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the 12th Youth Union Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation; Nguyen Kim Quy, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation; and Ho Hong Nguyen, Head of the Department for Mass Organizations under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

Nguyen Kim Quy and Ho Hong Nguyen are joining the Secretariat for the first time.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected Central Committee, First Secretary Bui Quang Huy said the new leadership is committed to continuous self-improvement, setting an example in both work and daily life, staying close to young people and grassroots organizations, daring to think, speak, act and take responsibility, and remaining determined in the face of challenges.

He said the new Central Committee will remain united and work wholeheartedly with Youth Union officials and members nationwide to implement the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress, the Party's policies, State laws, and the congress's own resolutions. It also aims to build a Youth Union that is strong in political commitment, ideology, ethics, organization and action while fundamentally renewing its methods of operation by placing young people at the center, as both the driving force and ultimate goal of development.
