The truck flipped after avoiding two girls in Hai Phong City on March 19

Berjaya CEO Nguyen Hoai Nam went on Facebook on April 2 and promised to help pay the compensation and monthly wages for Tien if he was forced to pay compensation and have his driving license suspended.

"I just want to say: Thank you, your reflexes saved two lives. Please help save others, and we won't abandon you," Nam wrote on his Facebook and asked others to help him make contact with Tien.

On March 19, Do Van Tien was driving in Hai Phong City when two girls riding on motorbike suddenly fell in front of his truck. He quickly diverted the truck to avoid the girls but hit two other cars parked on the street and flipped over. Tien was injured and had two broken ribs.

Tien said he would have to pay VND245m (USD10,700) for one of the cars but said it was just too much, Tien also said he couldn't blame the girls.

"When my truck flipped and I was able to get outside, my only thought was hoping that the girls were safe. I ran to them, making sure that they were fine and felt relieved," he said.

Even though he is very worried about the compensation, he also feels happy to receive a lot of support and encouragement from the community. As of March 31, many people donated VND8.7m (USD380) to his family. An insurance company gave him VND5m and an insurance package that worth hundreds of millions of VND.
