1. Born in 1963, Nguyen Dang Quang is now chair of the board of directors of Masan Group (MSN).
According to Forbes, Quang, with stock assets of $1.9 billion, ranks 1,597th on the Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires. In 2019, he was added to the list with assets valued at $1.3 billion.
Masan Group is the largest consumer goods manufacturer in Vietnam with a closed ecosystem from production to consumption with an FMCG production platform, which comprises Masan Consumer Holdings (the producer of instant noodles and spices), Masan MEATLife (husbandry, meat processing) and WinCommerce (WCM) (retail chain).
In 2021, turnover from consumer products, not including livestock feed and hi-tech industrial material processing, made up 68 percent of Masan’s total revenue, while the figure is expected to increase to 85 percent in 2022.
2. Vu, born in 1963, holds the post of chair of the board of directors of Hoa Sen Group. According to CafeF, in the list of 200 richest Vietnamese billionaires as of Jan 20, Vu is 73rd with total assets of VND1.491 trillion.
Vu has expressed his willingness to fully divest from Hoa Sen to lead a secluded life.
He plans to quit business activities after completing the restructuring of Hoa Sen, turning the company from a manufacturer into the largest building material distributor in the market. Under his plan, Vu will leave Hoa Sen after 2026 and sell all shares.
3. Nguyen Thanh Viet, or Shark Viet (the name he got after attending the Shark Tank TV Show), born in 1963, is president and CEO of the Infrastructure Investment and Transportation Construction JSC (Intracom).
With 30 years of experience, Viet has a business with more than 1,000 workers and annual turnover of trillions of dong.
Viet became better known as a shark on the Shark Tank TV Show (seasons 2 and 3). In Season 3, Viet made huge investments with total investment capital mounting to VND188.3 billion in many projects, including Luxstay, Edoctor, wind power turbine manufacturing, and Triip.
4. Nguyen Trung Tin, born in 1987, is known as the F1-generation businessman of Trung Thuy Group. In 2015, Tin was named on the 30 Under 30 Forbes Vietnam’s list.
Tin is the founder and president of Dreamplex, a shared workspace model. He had the chance to talk directly to US President Barack Obama at Dreamplex when Obama paid an official visit to Vietnam in 2016. There are five Dreamplex workspaces in Hanoi and HCMC.
5. Le Hoang Yen, born in 1987, CEO of Muong Thanh Hotel Group, is the daughter of Le Thanh Than. Yen became the manager of the largest privately-owned hotel network in Vietnam when she was under 30 years old.
Muong Thanh is the only Vietnamese owned hotel group holding 12 percent of market share, providing 10 percent of total 4-5-star hotel rooms (10,000 rooms in Vietnam and Laos).
6. Le Hoang Uyen Vy, born in 1987, is co-founder and co-manager of Do Ventures. She is a businesswoman with many years of experience and deep knowledge about the Vietnamese market.
In 2010, Vy founded Chon.vn and became the managing director. She wants to develop the platform into a famous online fashion shopping website.
In 2014, Chon.vn was taken over by Vingroup, the No 1 private corporation in Vietnam. Vy became managing director of Adayroi.com, an e-commerce firm belonging to Vingroup. She successfully expanded the firm’s scale from nothing. It now has revenue of hundreds of millions of dollars.
