As reported by the Ca Mau Department of Information and Communications, on August 11, a newspaper reported "85% of honey specialties in Ca Mau were mixed with sugar water".

The article wrote: "According to the test of honey quality by the market management agency of Ca Mau province, up to 85% of honey sold on the local market is not pure."

Notably, the information appeared in a bulletin on national VTV1.

The Department of Information and Communication of Ca Mau worked with the reporter and found that he had visited honey farms to collect information without verification of the authorities.

The market management agency of Ca Mau did not provide information saying ‘85% of honey is not pure’ to this reporter.

"The subjective opinion of the author has affected the reputation of U Minh Ha Forest Honey, a certified product, causing damage to producers,” the Department of information and Communications of Ca Mau stated.

The agency has asked the Ministry of Information and Communications, which is in charge of managing press agencies in Vietnam, to handle the case.

U Minh Ha forest honey is a famous product of Ca Mau province as it has the flavor of cajuput flower in U Minh Ha forest.
