Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn will pay an official visit to Viet Nam from November 26-27 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minster and Foreign Minster Pham Binh Minh.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Tra made the above statement at a press conference in Ha Noi on November 22.

This is Sokhonn’s first visit to Viet Nam since he was officially appointed as Cambodian Deputy Prime Minster in September 2018.

During the meeting, the two sides are expected to review and discuss measures to foster the two countries’ bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of high-level visits and coordination at regional and multilateral forums.

Prak Sokhonn will hold talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and pay courtesy call on PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc among other activities.

Also at the press conference, Deputy Spokesperson Tra said the 36th meeting of the Viet Nam-Cuba Inter-governmental Committee will take place in Havana, Cuba from November 26-30.

The Vietnamese delegation to the meeting will be led by Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha.

The meeting will evaluate cooperation between the two countries in 2018 and put forward cooperation agenda in such fields like agriculture, industry, healthcare, finance and banking, information and communication technology, education, construction, among others.
