Hoang Ngoc Nam, chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon Chien Thang Investment, Import-Export, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company, said the company plans to use approximately 50 pilots and technicians in order to control the balloons.
During the course of the event, a number of exciting activities will be held, including a balloon ride for visitors, a lantern festival for three nights with a duration of between 60 and 90 minutes, and a flag-raising ceremony at Can Tho stadium.
Truong Cong Quoc Viet, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho, said the occasion will provide an opportunity for the city to attract more local and foreign tourists, thereby making greater contribution to reviving the local tourism industry.
Nguyen Minh Tuan, director of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Can Tho, revealed that this is part of a series of events which aim mark the upcoming public holidays and Hung Kings’ death anniversary, along with the 10th Southern Folk Cake Festival and other activities.
