In recent years, the number of children involved in water-related incidents has increased. To prevent these incidents, local authorities have found a creative way to build natural swimming pools for children to learn how to swim and also go swimming.

At 5pm every day, children in Da Phuc and Thuy Khue village, in Hanoi’s outlying Quoc Oai district go for a swim at Long Tri lake, which lies within Chua Thay relic site. Despite the quiet atmosphere of the 1,000 year-old relic, the playful sound of children swimming makes the scene livelier than ever.

The artificial lake is fully equipped with safety gear so that children can enjoy swimming without fear of drowning.
