Many top Chinese automotive manufacturers have outlined plans to expand their investments and business operations in Vietnam, according to Jin Zhuanglong, the Chinese Minister of Industry and Technology. These discussions took place during the 13th session of the Vietnam-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee held in Beijing on the morning of September 30, where Vietnam's Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Hong Dien, and his delegation met with Minister Jin Zhuanglong.

During the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized the significance of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.” This agreement serves as a foundation for promoting mutual industrial strengths and development.

Minister Dien highlighted the geographical proximity of the two countries and Vietnam's participation in major free trade agreements like the EVFTA, CPTPP, and RCEP, which have brought the production and supply chains of Vietnam and China closer together, creating more cooperative opportunities for businesses in both countries’ industrial sectors.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien called for increased collaboration in the automotive industry, urging cooperation with major groups and enterprises that have invested in Vietnam, as well as with local automotive manufacturing and assembly businesses to align with the government’s direction and the Vietnamese market.

Minister Dien also proposed collaboration in consumer industries, minerals, and support industries...

"The Vietnamese government has attractive policies to draw foreign businesses to invest in foundational industries, support industries, mechanical technology, manufacturing, and even new energy sectors," said Minister Dien.

He requested both sides to focus on promoting cooperation and implementing three railway lines connecting Vietnam and China (Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong; Lang Son - Hanoi; Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong).

Minister Jin Zhuanglong of China stated that enterprises from both countries could advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as raw materials, automotive industry, electric industry, and the development of industrial zones...

"Many big Chinese automotive brands have planned to expand their investment and business in Vietnam. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China commits to supporting Chinese enterprises in expanding their investments in Vietnam, based on the needs of each country," Minister Jin Zhuanglong informed.

He also suggested that Vietnam offer Chinese businesses more favorable business conditions and policies to facilitate further growth.

Addressing mineral cooperation, Minister Jin Zhuanglong affirmed that this sector holds considerable potential for both countries. China is ready to engage deeply with Vietnam to support businesses from both sides in exploring, mining, and processing minerals, adhering to the legal policies of both countries.

Additionally, he proposed that both countries should promote the development of industrial supply chains; enhance cooperation in the electric industry, consumer industry, support industry, and aerospace technology development...
