During the meeting, President To Lam extended his best regards to President Xi Jinping and other senior Chinese leaders, expressing gratitude for China's recent support in helping Vietnam respond to the damage caused by Typhoon Yagi and subsequent flooding.

President To Lam congratulated He Wei on his new role and noted that the relationship between Vietnam and China has reached new historical heights, particularly as both countries approach the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

He expressed optimism that Ambassador He Wei will play a key role in advancing the comprehensive cooperation and friendship between the two nations.

In response, Ambassador He Wei emphasized his commitment to further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.

He conveyed his hopes for close cooperation with Vietnamese leaders and authorities, reaffirming his dedication to enhancing bilateral relations across sectors such as defense, economics, and culture.

The two sides also highlighted the importance of continuing high-level exchanges and collaboration in regional and international forums.
