The wrong map on the Chinese couples’ vehicle.

The Da Nang authorities granted them with a tourist visa extension until January 15 and by that date, they must leave Vietnam.

On December 25, 2013, the couple drove their homemade vehicle with a large map pasted on the body. This is a wrong map with the U-shaped line, expressing China’s ambitions to monopolize the East Sea. When they were about to leave Da Nang to Thua Thien - Hue on Highway 1A, they were arrested by the Lien Chieu district police.

Li Lin Xiang and his wife entered Vietnam twice, with the U-shaped line map. In late December 2013, they entered Vietnam again via the Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh province after traveling through Southeast Asia, on the journey to 100 countries.

The couple entered Vietnam with a homemade vehicle without valid papers and no entry permit. The authorities also discovered this Chinese couple as bringing many maps with the U-shaped line into Vietnam. These maps, which violate Vietnam's territorial sovereignty, were confiscated.

Da Nang police gave back the homemade vehicle to the couple and asked them to leave Vietnam through the northern border.
