Vietnam’s tolerance for Chinese tourists seems to be plummeting after a video showed visitors behaving badly when buying fruit from a vendor in Danang was posted on Facebook.

The 40-second video was filmed and shared by Musician Nguyen Khoai on his Facebook who witnessed the incident while crossing Phan Chau Trinh Street on July 4.

The musician claimed the Chinese travellers stopped the seller to buy a bunch of banana. They then picked up the bananas and then threw the fruit skins into her basket in a rude way, without asking her about the price.

When the seller said the price was VND40,000 (USD1.90), a Chinese man gave her the Chinese yuan, but she shook her head to show the disagreement.

The musician helped her to explain for the Chinese visitors that the Chinese yuan is often not used directly in daily trade in Vietnam.

After that the Chinese man gave her VND50,000 and then the seller returned him VND10,000. However, he became very angry, preventing her from moving and even snatched her hat.

Musician Nguyen Khoai once again tried to tell the Chinese that the money returned to them was right.
