They reached the agreement during a breakfast meeting in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on November 24.
The three leaders said their countries will mobilise resources to carry out these projects as soon as possible for better living standards of residents across the area.
Praising the successful organisation of the 9th CLV Summit by Cambodia, they stressed the determination to sustain and promote their special cooperation mechanism in the development triangle area.
The meeting was also the last activity of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Cambodia to attend the 9th CLV Summit before leaving for Vietnam in the morning of the same day.
Established in 1999, the CLV Development Triangle Area covers 10 provinces, namely Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Dak Nong of Vietnam; Sekong, Attapeu, and Saravan of Laos; and Stung Treng, Rattanak Kiri, and Mondul Kiri of Cambodia.
In 2009, the three countries agreed to include Vietnam’s Binh Phuoc, Cambodia’s Kratie, and Laos’ Champasak into the area.
Currently, Vietnam runs 183 projects with total registered capital of 2.86 billion USD in Cambodia, while Cambodia carries out 12 projects worth over 54 million USD in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Vietnam was the third biggest investor of Laos at nearly 5.1 billion USD.-VNA
