Viet Nam national football team’s acting head coach Mai Duc Chung selected 24 players to prepare for the match against Cambodia in Group C of the Asian Cup 2019’s qualifying round at My Dinh National Stadium on October 10.

The coach named three goalkeepers including Huynh Tuan Linh of Quang Ninh Coal, Nguyen Tuan Manh of Sanna Khanh Hoa and Bui Tien Duũng of FLC Thanh Hoa.

At the back, fans will welcome the return of Que Ngoc Hai of Song Lam Nghe An alongside five other players. Hai is expected to be an important part of Viet Nam’s defence.

The 66-year-old Chung called 10 midfielders including Dinh Thanh Trung, an outstanding Quang Nam player.

In the attack, Chung chose Nguyen Van Quyet of Hanoi, Mac Hong Quan of Quang Ninh Coal, Nguyen Cong Phuong of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Ha Duc Chinh of SHB Da Nang and young ace Ngan Van Dai of Saigon FC.

The team will convene on October 3 in Hanoi to commence six days of preparation for the match.

In the reverse fixture at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Viet Nam beat Cambodia 2-1.
