Park Hang-seo leads Vietnam U23 to write a new page in the history of Vietnamese football.

The honours aim to recognise the significant achievements of the Republic of Korea coach and his players at the AFC U23 Championship in China, where they set up a final clash with Uzbekistan following remarkable wins over strong footballing powers such as Australia (in the group stage), Iraq (in the quarterfinals), and Qatar (in the semifinals).

At the ceremony, the Support Fund for Young Vietnam Talent gifted Vietnam U23’s VND500 million (US$22,000), including a VND200 million (US$8,800) bonus for the team’s semifinal victory against Qatar and another bonus of VND300 million (US$13,200) after their final against Uzbekistan.

Addressing the event, permanent secretary of the HCYU Central Committee, Nguyen Anh Tuan, extended his thanks to the coaching staff and members of the Vietnam U23 team for their valiant efforts in fighting for the pride of the nation and overcoming stark difficulties to win significant achievements for Vietnamese sports.

He called on the community and organisations to pay more attention to discovering and fostering young talent, thus inspiring younger generation to strive to bring home the glory for the fatherland.

Within the framework of the awards ceremony, an online exchange took place between a number of Vietnam U23 players and home fans.
