The latest cold spell to hit the south of the nation caused by tropical depressions has forced the local people of HCM City to wrap up in an extra layer of clothing as they try and stay warm amid the arrival of chilly weather and torrential rains.
The strongest cold spell since the onset of winter this year has started chilling the northern region of Vietnam, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
Several cold spells will arrive in the northern region in late January but the temperatures will be higher than in previous years, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
Vietnam will have three to five cold spells in January and February 2020, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
