Music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a classic concert entitled ‘Tre Mua Thu’ (Autumn Bamboo) at the L'Espace French Cultural Centre in Hanoi, on October 19 and 20 at 8pm.

Under the direction of Dong Quang Vinh, the Hanoi Voices Choir and the Bamboo Ensemble ‘Suc Song Moi’ (New Lease on Life) will perform well-known classical music works, such as “Tourdion” of Pierre Attaingnant, “Cantique de Jean Racine” of Gabriel Fauré, “Bésame Mucho” of Consuelo Velázquez, “Ah! Je veux vivre – extract” from “Romeo et Juliette” (Charles Gounod), “Les feuilles mortes” of Joseph Kosma and excerpts from “Carmen” by the bamboo orchestra, along with Vietnamese folk songs.

In addition, the concert is not only being held for adults but also for children, with Taupinette (Gerard Dalton), Hedgehog’s Song (Phillippe Chatel), and La sorcière Grabouilla (Michel Briant) by the children’s choir.

Hanoi Voices is an international choir under the musical direction of Conductor Dong Quang Vinh, together with guest artists Tran Bich Ngoc and Ryoko Bohmuki

The Bamboo Ensemble ‘Suc Song Moi’ was established in November 2013 in Hanoi. The ensemble’s members play traditional Vietnamese instruments made of bamboo.

The combination between the bamboo orchestra and choir, and the traditional musical instruments and classical works, promises to deliver a new experience that will delight fans of classical and traditional music.
