The man brought to the mainland

On the morning of August 28, Nha Trang Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre received the call for help from the Bahamas-flagged Seabourn Ovation cruise ship that a passenger was facing health problems and needed urgent support.

At that time, the cruise was about 78 nautical miles from the north of Nha Trang City.

The centre kept contact with the cruise ship to provide first aid for the passenger and then sent a rescue ship for help.

The 78-year-old American passenger, Haddock Richard Raywho, was diagnosed with acute ileus.

He had signs of tympanism, peritonitis and vomiting.

The man was brought to the mainland for the treatment.
