A source from the Civil Aviation Administration of Việt Nam, Đà Nẵng office, said Đà Nẵng airport and Cam Ranh International Airport represented the country on the top-five list including Adelaide and Perth (Australia) and Mactan Cebu (the Philippines) at Routes Asia in Langkawi, Malaysia.

It said Đà Nẵng Airport hosted 40,000 flights with 6.3 million passengers and 20,000 tonnes of cargo in 2023.

It added that efforts had been jointly implemented among CAAV, the Đà Nẵng International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), the city’s tourism department and travel agencies in promoting the tourism industry and service.

Đà Nẵng has 24 direct air routes, of which 16 are international, hosting an average of 90 to 140 flights per day since last March, CAAV said.

Currently, an airport expansion project is designed to reach capacity for handling 10 million passengers and 100,000 tonnes of cargo.

The international terminal of Đà Nẵng International Airport earned 5-stars from international airport rating agency Skytrax, with efforts in facilities and services improvement.

AHT company, in co-operation with Hội An Art Troupe, has been introducing traditional art performances to serve passengers at the boarding lobby on Friday evenings since last year.

Đà Nẵng International Airport’s Terminal T2 became the first in Southeast Asia to receive the Welcome Chinese certification in 2023.

Đà Nẵng hosted the Routes Asia 2022 with the participation of 500 delegates from 200 airlines, airports, and aviation service suppliers from 42 countries and territories all over the world.

The coastal tourism hub, one of the three largest cities in Việt Nam, is seen as a favourite MICE destination with well-invested infrastructure and a series of high-class resorts, conferences, festivals and sports events.
