The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism simultaneously organized welcome events at Da Nang International Airport, Chu Lai Airport, and Hoi An Ancient Town, setting a festive tone and ambitious growth goals for the year ahead.

At the domestic terminal of Da Nang International Airport, the first flight of the year from Hanoi brought 170 passengers. Moments later, the international terminal welcomed a series of flights from Manila (Philippines), Incheon and Busan (South Korea), Bangkok (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Singapore - carrying over 1,200 international tourists in total.

At the same time, Chu Lai Airport hosted the arrival of two inaugural flights of the year - VJ1370 from Ho Chi Minh City and VN1641 from Hanoi - signaling a strong start for the central region’s aviation sector.

Visitors were greeted with flowers, souvenirs, and cheerful welcome activities, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere to ring in the new year.

Meanwhile, in Hoi An Ancient Town, a ceremonial welcome was held at the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge. Guests enjoyed traditional music, cultural exchanges, and received mementos before exploring the UNESCO-listed heritage site.

According to reports from Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport, the New Year holiday period (from December 30, 2025, to January 4, 2026) is expected to see approximately 831 flights arrive in Da Nang, including 464 domestic and 367 international flights - a 13.9% increase from the same period in 2025. The total number of visitors is forecast to exceed 125,000.

The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated that these simultaneous activities not only energized the start of the new year, but also demonstrated the city’s strong determination to achieve double-digit growth in tourism for 2026.

The city expects to welcome around 19.1 million visitors this year, including 8.7 million international tourists. Total tourism revenue is projected to reach nearly USD 2.9 billion, making a significant contribution to Da Nang’s socio-economic development.
