A luxurious wedding of a couple from India was held in Da Nang on January 19-21 with 500 guests and service staff. More than one ton of materials, costumes and props were carried from India to Da Nang. The couple booked 258 hotel rooms at Sheraton Grand Da Nang for the guests.

In February and March, Da Nang received two more Indian couples who organized their weddings with more than 400 guests who stayed in 650 rooms at a 5-star resort.

These included the wedding of bride Heena Paryani and groom Bhisham Ramchandani, on February 29 - March 2 at Da Nang Marriot Resort and Spa, and the wedding of bride Kulvin Kaur and groom Dilip Bhagwan at Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort and Spa on February 2-4 with more than 200 guests.

The total number of hotel rooms serving the two weddings reached 650 night rooms at the two resorts of international stature.

Dhinesh Rajarathinam, CEO of Dated Luxury Weddings, the organizer of the two weddings, said the company was asked to organize weddings for 30 couples this year, including five couples from India with weddings in the first quarter in 2024.

According to the Da Nang Tourism Department, the three big weddings of Indian couples and the weddings of many other couples were organized in the first two months of the year, which is a positive sign for Da Nang’s tourism.

The agency will gather resources to organize promotions and events with an aim of becoming a favorite wedding tourism destination in Asia.

A report on travel trends by Skyscanner said Da Nang is No1 among top 10 destinations for Indian travelers with the number of searches increasing sharply in recent years, by 1,141 percent. The other two are Krabi (Thailand) and Mahe (Seychelles).

Indian travelers have high interest in destinations nearby and beaches which allow guests to enjoy the sun and relax.

The three other factors that affect Indian travelers’ decisions in 2024 include food (71 percent), weather conditions (65 percent) and cultural experiences at destinations (65 percent). Of these, shopping (49 percent), excursions at historic sites (45 percent) and tasting local food (38 percent) are the three most interested cultural experiences.
