On March 29, authorities in Da Nang officially broke ground on the Tam Anh - An An Hoa industrial park, a large-scale project expected to become a new industrial growth pole in the southern part of the city.
The project, developed by An An Hoa Industrial Park and Urban Joint Stock Company, spans 435.8 hectares with a total registered investment of more than VND4.152 trillion (US$170 million).
According to local officials, the industrial park is one of the final components completing the city’s planned 1,545 hectares of industrial land. It is expected to strengthen the production base and support long-term economic development.
Designed under an eco-industrial model, the project prioritizes sectors such as electronics, mechanical engineering, supporting industries, food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals, furniture manufacturing, construction materials and emerging technologies.
When fully operational, the industrial park is projected to create employment for more than 20,000 workers.
Located at the heart of the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, the project benefits from a highly integrated transport network.
The area connects multiple modes of transport, including road, rail, inland waterways and international sea routes. It is also linked to major deep-water ports such as Chu Lai, Tien Sa, Lien Chieu and Dung Quat, as well as key airports including Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport.
This strategic positioning is expected to reduce logistics costs and enhance supply chain efficiency, giving Vietnamese goods a stronger competitive edge.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, officials highlighted the project’s broader significance in the context of regional integration between Da Nang and Quang Nam.
The industrial park is envisioned as part of a larger, unified economic space, helping transform the southern area into a dynamic growth engine. It is also expected to play an important role along the East - West economic corridor, contributing to the development of a large-scale industrial zone in central Vietnam.
Leaders emphasized that the project must follow a development model centered on high technology, green production and circular economy principles. Environmental protection, climate adaptability and social welfare are key priorities to ensure long-term sustainability.
As Vietnam continues to reposition its industrial base, projects like Tam Anh - An An Hoa reflect a shift toward more integrated, efficient and environmentally conscious development.
The groundbreaking marks not only the start of construction, but also a step toward redefining Da Nang’s role as a major industrial and logistics hub in the region.
