On May 6, Dung sent a letter to thank and praise Lieutenant Le Viet Trinh, a police of Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District who opened a manhole cover to pick up the cell phone for a foreign tourist and Nguyen Thi Thong, a staff of the Hoan My hospital, for giving first aid to a foreign visitor.

On April 9, at the intersection of Nguyen Chi Thanh - Ly Tu Trong in Hai Chau district, Da Nang, a Korean dropped his cellphone down the sewer. Lieutenant Trinh who was patrolling in the area borrowed a crowbar of a nearby family to open the manhole cover and picked up the phone for the foreign tourist.

On April 3rd, on her way to Linh Ung Pagoda, a famous tourist site in Da Nang, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thong saw an elderly foreign woman fell off a motorbike on the road.

Based on her experience, Thong was determined that the foreign woman’s right femur was broken.

Thong found an appropriate plank on the roadside, and called on the help of bystanders to give first aid to the foreign victim.

Thong then took the victim to the Hoan My Hospital on a taxi.

Thanks to her timely help and her first-aid technique, the foreign victim’s wound did not become worse and she could recover very quickly.

In the letter of thanks, Da Nang Vice Chair said: "Da Nang leaders recognize and thank the good deeds, civilized behavior of Da Nang individuals, which show Our people’s culture and hospitable spirit to international friends and travelers."

Dung also hoped that Da Nang people will continue to perform good deeds in life to together build Da Nang as a tourism city that is peaceful, civilized, hospitable and friendly.
