VietNamNet Bridge – Inspecting the office of a travel firm in Da Nang, local police detected and seized many posters that named Vietnam’s East Sea as China Beach.

The inspection at the headquarters of Jeep Tour company on An Thuong 5 Road, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang was conducted on July 27th. The police found many posters advertising Vietnam’s landscapes with inaccurate information.

The authorities seized many posters printed in English and Vietnamese, which contain wrong information about tourist sites in Da Nang. Notably, these posters note Vietnam’s East Sea as China Beach.

The owner of the house where the travel firm was based said a foreign man gave her the posters and she did not know that the posters contained wrong information.

The authorities seized the posters and were investigating the case.

An official from the Da Nang Tourism Department said that recently many Chinese tourists have come to Da Nang. Some of them violated Vietnam law and misbehaved. The local authorities have fined nearly 20 violators and many Chinese were expelled from Vietnam.

"We respect all visitors to Da Nang but they have to obey the laws of our country. Any misconduct will be handled under the law," said Mr. Tran Chi Cuong - Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Department.
