Authorities of the central city of Danang have approved a VND46-billion (USD2 million) project to develop tourism services at local beaches during the 2018-2020 period.

The project is aimed to develop tourism services at seven beaches along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street namely Xuan Ha, Phu Loc, Ho Tung Mau, Tran Dinh Tri, Nguyen Chanh, Nam Xuan Trieu and Nam O.  

Promotion activities for the beaches will be carried out to attract tourists. Many facilities for tourism services will be built there such as parks, bathrooms, rescue stations, fast food and drink stalls, dining area, sports area and light system.

Danang City has also planned the tourism service development of beaches along Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap and Truong Sa roads in the long term.

Danang is famous for its beautiful destinations, especially beaches. Visitors can admire Ba Na Hills, explore the jungle on the Son Tra Peninsula, and visit at Linh Ung Pagoda with Vietnam’s highest Bodhisattva Statue at 67 metres.

The city was estimated to greet around 6.5 million visitors in 2017, including more than 2 million foreigners. The city is now home to 83 investment projects in tourism and services worth around USD7.3 billion.

Danang hopes to welcome nine million visitors by 2020, with 30% being international holidaymakers, and rake in VND31.5 trillion (USD1.38 billion) in revenues.

In 2016, the city was honoured as Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination at the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony.
