These MICE tourists, from a large company in Indonesia, will arrive in Danang in large groups on charter flights.
In Danang, the tourists will stay at four-star hotels, visit Ba Na Hills and experience being employed as farmers in the Tra Que veggie garden. They will then take boat tours and visit the neighboring ancient town of Hoi An. Six gala dinners will be held in the city, with each event gathering at least 600 MICE guests.
Tran Xuan Hung, chairman of the board at Viking Travel firm, said that it took the firm two months, excluding time for preparations, to convince the Indonesia-based company to select Viking as the trip's main organizer and Danang as the destination for the MICE tourists.
Viking managed to beat other tour operators at home and from Malaysia and Thailand to meet the customer firm’s requirements, ranging from the capacity to organize tours to the attraction and adequacy of destinations, said Hung.
The firm chose Danang among other popular destinations in the country, such as Nha Trang, Halong and HCMC, as the central city boasts of beautiful beaches and fine hotels, as well as its prime location, which connects many tourist attractions in central Vietnam.
The upcoming events are expected to promote Viking and Danang City since they will be attended by many Indonesian news agencies. Apart from that, the huge volume of MICE tourists has paved the way for Viking to tap the Indonesian market.
By the end of May, Viking, in collaboration with Indonesian business partners, plans to bring more tourists from Indonesia to Danang on three weekly charter flights.
