People in the central city of Da Nang who want their information and opinions to be dealt with now only have to send them via one hotline.
The operators of the new hotline
The recently established hotline, 0511 1022, replaces almost 200 other phone numbers serving as hotlines of administrative and public service agencies in Da Nang.
That there are so many hotlines has made the city dwellers confused about which they should call. Additionally, those hotlines are the numbers of separate offices, divisions and persons, and thus they are unable to receive more than one call at a time or automatically record the calls, said the municipal Department of Information and Communications.
A single hotline will be easier to be remembered and help ensure the timely, responsible and professional settlement of public feedback.
Deputy Director of the department Nguyen Dang Truong said the new hotline is connected to a switchboard with 25 operators at present. The operators are available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day.
Calls made outside of these hours will be recorded as there have not been many calls during that time. The operators will call back immediately during the next working hours, he noted, adding that the existing hotlines are still at the service of those who want them.
Truong said his department will connect to local authorities’ social network pages and develop other channels to deal with people’s opinions as best as possible.
