On Monday, Mr. Bui Hong Quy, head of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Office, said the provincial government would ask Major General Tran Ky Roi, Director of Dak Lak police agency, and his daughter Tran Le Thuy Hang, who is also a police officer, to report on the case.

The inspection results will be released later, Quy said.

Recently Dan Viet reported that Hang is the owner of the café named Khong Gian Xua on Y Moan Road, in Buon Ma Thuot City.

According to Dan Viet, the café is located on a vast land lot worth thousands of billion VND (millions of USD).

Hang said the information is wrong. She said she owned only 4,000sq.m of land, including 160sq.m of residential land. The remaining area is for cultivation.

She said she contributed the land to open the Khong Gian Xua café with a friend, a woman named Kim. She confirmed that Kim was the investor of the café, not her.

Concerning the recruitment of his daughter to the Dak Lak Economic Police Bureau, Major-General Roi said his daughter previously worked in the banking-finance sector.

In 2011, the Ministry of Public Security recruited Hang based on her qualification that the Economic Police Bureau needed. The police official confirmed the recruitment of his daughter was not wrong.

The police officer also said that his daughter had sent a complaint to Dan Viet chief editor for publishing inaccurate information.
