The Dam boat racing festival which is held every five years has been recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The boat racing competition takes place from the ninth to the eleventh day of the third lunar month in Tay Tuu ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi. The festival is held to commemorate tutelary god Bach Hac Tam Giang.

The race covers 2,000m on Thuy Giang River and attracts the participation of 150 rowers in six boats.
