Eight Danish films will be introduced to Vietnamese audiences during the Danish Film Week from November 19-27, as part of activities to mark 45th anniversary of Danish-Vietnamese bilateral diplomatic relations.

The screened films include: ‘A Royal Affair’, ‘The Candidate’, ‘Freddy Frogface’, ‘A Hijacking’, ‘Mini and the Mozzies’, ‘The Hunt’, ‘The Circus Dynasty’, and ‘Silent Heart’. The selected films are internationally acclaimed with various awards and nominations.
The screening will take place at the National Cinema Center at 87 Lang Ha Street in Hanoi and Cinebox at 212 Ly Chinh Thang Street in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event aims to introduce the Danish contemporary film industry which boasts a vast number of talented actors and film makers with worldwide reputation, said Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam Charlotte Laursen.
Through the Danish Film Weeks, sponsored by the global healthcare company Novo Nordisk and the international retail chain from Denmark JYSK, Vietnamese audiences will have an opportunity to better understand modern Danish society and the contemporary life of the Danish people.
The film ‘A Royal Affair’ will be screened on the opening day of the Film Weeks. It is a gripping tale of brave idealists who risk everything in their pursuit of freedom for the people, it also tells the story of a passionate and forbidden romance that changed an entire nation. The film was nominated for the 2013 Oscar Academy Awards as “The Best Foreign Language Film of the Year” and won 21 international prizes and 37 nominations at international awards.
Danish Embassy’s Facebook followers can participate in a mini-contest on Saturday 12th November, 2016, to win tickets for the films in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
