Danish Minister for Development Cooperation Ms.Ulla Tørnæs will pay an official visit to Vietnam on May 4-5, hosted by Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung.

The purpose of the visit is to enhance Vietnam - Denmark bilateral comprehensive partnership with focus on four sectors: Education (vocational training), Food safety (in pork value chain), Environment (industrial compliance) and Health (Non-communicable diseases).

The Minister will participate in a wide range of activities to strengthen Vietnam and Denmark cooperation in sectors including meetings with Vietnamese leaders to discuss bilateral partnership, visits to Danish companies to explore the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Vietnam, and opening for the discussion at the 3GF Asia roundtable in Hanoi.

Ms. Ulla Tørnæs is expected to meet with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment  Tran Hong Ha, Vice Minister of Health Le Quang Cuong, and Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam.

She will also join an event with the students and staff of University of Public Health to raise awareness about non-communicable diseases, and host a press briefing at the Embassy of Denmark to reflect the results of her visit in Vietnam.

Since 1994 Denmark has provided Vietnam with more than US$1.3 billion in grant development assistance. 

Through this support Denmark has contributed to the strong growth and economic development of Vietnam.
