VietNamNet Bridge – The number of cases of dengue fever in HCM City shot up by 125 per cent in October compared to a year earlier and could rise further this month, the peak season, 

Dengue fever in Hanoi has dropped since last month, down 95.8 per cent against the same period last year, but the risk of contracting the disease is still high, warned Dr Nguyen Nhat Cam, director of the city’s Disease Control Centre.

Though Vietnam has a low fatality rate among patients with dengue fever, the Ministry of Health has instructed hospitals nationwide to try to further reduce the number of deaths to the lowest possible number.
