Hailing the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership, the Deputy PM said that trust and understanding have been built through recent visits from the two countries’ leaders.
The official also noted that the Vietnam trip of Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in March boosted economy-trade, banking, infrastructure and people-to-people exchange, as did the visit of Khaw Boon Wan, Chairman of the People’s Action Party of Singapore.
Vietnam’s agencies have worked with Singaporean partners to realise commitments made during those visits, he added.
For her part, Ambassador Catherine Wong Siow Ping said Singapore is willing to support Vietnam, especially in the countries’ prioritised cooperation fields.
On his upcoming official visit to Singapore, Deputy PM Binh said he will discuss measures to enhance political, defence, security and judicial cooperation with Singapore’s leaders, along with promoting dialogue mechanisms, pirate countermeasures and search and rescue.
The two countries will seek to expand cooperation in cyber security, intelligence and legal officer training.
