According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) - the main investor of the project’s third component - the construction value has reached over VND 44 trillion (approximately USD 1.84 billion), equivalent to 55% of the contractual value. Despite heavy rains in August that hampered progress, ACV instructed the consortium of contractors to adjust their schedules to stay on track. Currently, 12 out of 15 packages are meeting requirements.

At the site, nearly 14,000 experts, engineers, and workers, supported by 3,000 pieces of equipment, are working across hundreds of construction fronts. The goal is to substantially complete the project by the end of 2025 and begin operations in the first half of 2026.

Dong Nai province has also pledged to ensure the supply of construction materials and accelerate the progress of transportation routes connecting the airport to guarantee seamless infrastructure readiness.

Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha reported to the Deputy Prime Minister that major obstacles have largely been resolved. The ministry will continue to work closely with ACV, the Civil Aviation Authority, and other related agencies to monitor progress and address any emerging issues promptly. All work is to comply with legal regulations and the Prime Minister’s directives to ensure the project is completed on schedule, safely, and effectively.

After the on-site inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha reaffirmed that the goal to complete phase one by December 19 remains unchanged. “Any unit that causes delays - even by one day - will be held accountable to the Government and the Prime Minister,” he stressed.

He called on the Ministry of Construction, ACV, and the Dong Nai People's Committee to review the timeline of each subproject to ensure quality, technical standards, and schedule. If there are difficulties related to technical capacity or responsibility of any unit, ministry, or locality, they must report them for timely resolution.

Additionally, he emphasized that ACV must prepare a management and operations team that meets international 5-star service standards to ensure synchronized and world-class services once the airport is operational.

“Long Thanh Airport aims to be a 5-star international transit hub, so its management team must not deliver anything less than 5-star performance,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

He also urged Dong Nai to develop a diverse, high-quality service ecosystem to serve passengers, and promptly reward teams and individuals contributing to the project, boosting morale for the tens of thousands of workers striving to meet the project's milestones.
