On June 30, the Organizing Committee of DIFF 2024 held a jury meeting to select the two finalists. The jury, composed of renowned musicians, artists, and heads of foreign diplomatic agencies in Vietnam, consulted with Global 2000 Company to make their decision.
DIFF 2024 featured eight teams from the United States, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, China, and Vietnam. Over four dramatic competition nights, each team showcased unique techniques and identities, resulting in high-quality performances. The jury's selection was based on strict criteria, including:
- Uniqueness, design ideas, and adaptation to the performance theme.
- Diversity, richness of effects, and intensity of colors.
- Synchronization between music and performance.
- The overall impression and ending of the performance.
The Finnish and Chinese teams were announced as the two best performers, a decision that shocked many since they had already competed against each other on June 29.
To ensure objectivity, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Tran Chi Cuong, conducted a draw to determine the performance order for the final night. The Chinese team will perform first, followed by the Finnish team.
DIFF 2024 awards include:
- Champion Team: $20,000, a trophy, and a certificate.
- Runner-Up Team: $10,000, a trophy, and a certificate.
- Most Favorite Team (voted by the audience): $5,000 and a certificate.
- Creativity Award (for unique and creative performances): $5,000 and a certificate.
The awards will be announced and presented immediately after the final performance on July 13. The final night, themed "Made of Young Generation - Future Beat," promises a spectacular light show, concluding the 12th season of DIFF, which has captivated Da Nang for over a month.
Ms. Nadia Shakira Wong, Director of Global 2000 Fireworks Consulting Company, the producer of the DIFF 2024 event, stated: "We have to start preparing right now - cleaning the shooting range, preparing the fireworks warehouse, notifying the teams, arranging their travel and accommodation, and exchanging information about the final night. This is a huge challenge, but the teams are extremely excited."
