The whole digital content industry has more than 3,700 enterprises with nearly 63,000 employees.
The average income per capita in the digital content sector is more than $7,000 per person per year.

VNG’s revenue reached VND3.16 trillion ($135.6 million) and profit was VND391 billion in the first three quarter of last year.
Its major products and services include online games, financial connectivity and payment platforms, cloud services.
Another successful digital content enterprise last year is VCCorp, which built a large ecosystem with more than 20 products in the field of communication, e-commerce and social network.
Last year, VCCorp’s revenue was estimated at VND500 billion.
FPT Online also had a spectacular growth. The company’s net revenue reached VND381 billion by the third quarter.
The company’s profit after tax reached VND174 billion, up 17 per cent compared to the third quarter of 2017.
VTC Intecom, under VTC Corporation, reported revenue of VND319 billion as of the third quarter of last year, up 69 per cent compared to 2017.
VTC Intecom’s profit reached VND8.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 44 per cent.
One of the foreign enterprises doing business in the IT industry is Samsung Viet Nam with three factories in HCM City, Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen.
The total revenue of Samsung companies in Viet Nam reached $54.3 billion in 2017.
Its export turnover last year is expected to increase by 12 per cent compared to that of 2017, reaching over $60 billion, accounting for 25 per cent of the country’s total export turnover. — VNS
