On September 10, NKG officially launched the GK eBooks digital textbook platform, signaling a breakthrough in the country’s push for digital education.
In the age of digitalization and artificial intelligence, education is undergoing a fundamental shift toward a student-centered model. Digital textbooks are now viewed as one of the critical pillars in this transformation.
GK eBooks is not merely a digitized version of traditional textbooks. It is a core component of a comprehensive digital education platform that integrates artificial intelligence, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and interactive 3D learning materials. The goal is to deliver an intelligent learning experience for students, teachers, parents, and schools alike.
Among GK eBooks’ most notable features is its all-in-one solution for educational institutions, publishers, and families. The system includes independent, tightly controlled modules tailored for content publishing, usage, and academic performance evaluation.
The built-in digital textbook studio allows for intuitive layout design and editing, accommodating text, images, videos, and audio. Learning interactivity is embedded directly in the content with integrated 3D models, AR/VR simulations, quizzes, exercises, and chapter-based organization that can be easily modified or rearranged.
Parents and students can now access GK eBooks for free using their existing tablets (such as iPads). The platform is currently being piloted with materials from the Education Publishing House.
Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, CEO of NKG, shared that GK eBooks aims to become a smart learning companion for students, helping them engage with knowledge in a more intuitive and enjoyable way. At the same time, it offers parents tools to actively monitor and support their children’s learning journey.
Far more than just digital books, GK eBooks is designed as a modern learning platform. Each student is supported by an AI-powered personal assistant for practice, homework, and skill development. Lessons incorporate 3D visuals, AR/VR experiments, and video demonstrations, creating a rich, immersive learning environment. For teachers and schools, the system provides tools to manage, assess, and personalize learning paths for every student.
At the launch event, Dr. Ton Quang Cuong, Head of the Department of Educational Technology at the University of Education under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that digital textbooks can serve as a major catalyst by integrating smart systems and platforms.
“In a time when learning has become a fundamental human need, personalization and self-directed learning are becoming increasingly prominent. This solution embodies the synergy between education and modern technology. It represents a paradigm shift in how textbooks are conceived and lays the foundation for the next generation of educational materials,” he said.
Dr. Pham Quang Hung noted that the use of technologies - especially AI - within the GK eBooks platform not only enhances learner competence and quality but also helps teachers track and adapt to student progress with greater ease.
He added, “The Ministry of Education and Training is preparing to launch a strategy for AI application in education, including plans to build databases enabling students to access complete and accurate information. The integration of official textbook content into digital formats is thus highly appropriate. While the journey toward digital transformation in education is still long, we hope businesses, educators, and experts will join the Ministry in shaping a path aligned with global scientific and technological advances.”
From another perspective, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet, Director of the Institute for Intelligent Education and Technology, argued that traditional education is no longer effective, and the future must be built on technology.
“Technology changes every day, so our designs must be open to embrace these new advancements in education,” he concluded.
