On October 11, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed the Prime Minister’s decisions on disciplining the leadership of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee.

Specifically, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh imposed a reprimand on two Vice Chairmen of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee: Vo Ngoc Hiep and Nguyen Ngoc Phuc.

Additionally, the Prime Minister issued a warning to Pham S, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, and Nguyen Van Yen, former Vice Chairman during the 2011-2016 and 2016-2021 terms.

All four officials committed violations and shortcomings in their work, and the Central Inspection Commission had already imposed disciplinary actions within the Party.

The disciplinary measures took effect from August 14, the date the Central Inspection Commission announced its decision.

Earlier, at its 45th meeting, the Central Inspection Commission reviewed the results of its inspection into signs of violations and the accountability of the Party Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee.

The commission concluded that the Lam Dong Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee violated the principles of democratic centralism and the working regulations, showing a lack of responsibility and leadership, leading to serious violations of the Party’s regulations and state laws in land management and the handling of several investment projects in the province.

Furthermore, the commission allowed several Party organizations and members to be disciplined, with many officials facing criminal charges due to their involvement in the bribery and abuse of power case related to the Dai Ninh Urban Area project and other related localities and entities.

The Central Inspection Commission stated that the above violations caused significant damage that was difficult to rectify, posing a high risk of major financial losses to the state and generating negative public sentiment, thus reducing the credibility of the Party and local government to a level warranting disciplinary action.

The commission identified the individual responsibility of those involved, including Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Pham S, Vo Ngoc Hiep, and Nguyen Van Yen.

As a result, the commission decided to issue warnings to Yen and Pham S and reprimands to Phuc and Hiep.
