Minister-Chairman of the Govenrment Office Mai Tien Dung said disciplining Secretary and Chairman of Da Nang City will not affect the APEC economic leaders’ week scheduled from November 6-11.

He made the statement at the press conference held after the cabinet meeting on October 3.
Minister Dung, who is also the Government Spokesman, said preprations for the APEC leaders’ week are underway as planned.
Party and State leaders have prepared plans to ensure smooth organization of the event, he added.
Earlier, the Central Inspection Commission of the Communist Party of Viet Nam had detected wrongdoings in Da Nang City.
Secretatary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Anh has been found to hold “main responsibility” for multiple violations by the Da Nang Party Committee’s Standing Board during the tenure 2015-2020.
His actions caused division and affected the solidarity and unity in the Standing Board of the Party Committee.
Meanwhile, Vice Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho also shouldered blame for violations committed by the Party Committee’s Standing Board.
Tho is held accountable for violations in land and urban management.
