Celebrated in the saying "Nhất Thanh, nhì Lò, tam Than, tứ Tấc," which highlights the four renowned rice fields in Northwest Vietnam—Muong Thanh (Dien Bien province), Muong Lo (Yen Bai province), Muong Than (Lai Chau province), and Muong Tac (Son La province)—Muong Than stands out for its natural beauty and cultural significance.

Situated at an elevation of approximately 600 meters above sea level, this "jewel" of a field is not only famous for its majestic landscape but also for its picturesque rural charm.

In August each year, as the weather turns cool and pleasant, Muong Than field becomes an ideal destination for travelers visiting Than Uyen district, Lai Chau province. The perfect harmony between the vibrant green rice fields and the deep green mountains, along with drifting clouds, captivates anyone who visits.
