Implementing Plan No. 06/KH-BTC dated May 10, 2023 of the Anniversary Organizing Committee on organizing activities commemorating the 20th anniversary of separation and establishment of Lai Chau province (January 1, 2004 - January 1 /2024), the Provincial Literature and Arts Association was assigned the task of organizing a photo contest with the theme "The beauty of the land and people of Lai Chau".

From September 22, 2023 to November 20, 2023, the Literature and Arts Association of Lai Chau received 606 submissions, including 350 photos and 41 sets of photos of 44 contestants from 5 provinces/cities . The submitted works are suitable for the designated contents and ensure technical standards.

All photos were taken in Lai Chau, which reflects the beauties revealing the values of truth - goodness - beauty in all areas of life and the work of economic, cultural - social construction and development in Lai Chau; the beautiful images of natural landscapes, historical relics, scenic spots, unique traditional folk festivals, folk arts; the beauty of craft villages and traditional crafts, the beauty of the people's cultural and spiritual life in preserving and promoting national cultural identity associated with tourism development.

The 11 winning works depict the mark of the land and people of Lai Chau during 20 years of construction and development; contributing to promoting and introducing the land and people of Lai Chau as well as the socio-economic achievements of the province to the public.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau - Mr. Tong Thanh Hai - emphasized that the Lai Chau Photo Contest 2023 with the theme "The beauty of the land and people of Lai Chau" is one of the activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the separation and establishment of the province.

He emphasized that the photos are a mirror illuminating life in the process of socio-economic development in Lai Chau province over the past 20 years. Photographers, with their lens, reflected all aspects of life and culture of ethnic groups in Lai Chau province. Through these photos, the image of Lai Chau with its unique landscapes, people, and culture is truly reflected to each tourist and people at home and abroad.

The submissions clearly show the potential and advantages of Lai Chau province.

The Organizing Committee presented 11 prizes. Particularly, the first prize belonged to Ta Ha Hai (Lai Chau); two second prizes went to Dao Tien Dung (Lai Chau) and Khong Yen Anh (Vinh Phuc); three third prizes went to Nguyen Manh Cuong, Tran Ngoc Thang and Ha Minh Hung (Lai Chau).
