According to the Hanoi Police Department’s official portal, these projects play a critical role in enhancing socio-economic development, improving urban planning, and raising living standards in the capital. However, the land clearance process associated with these developments has become the focus of manipulation by hostile forces and politically opportunistic individuals.
These elements have been actively disseminating false and misleading information with the intent to twist the nature of the land acquisition process. Their efforts include exaggerating difficulties during project implementation and fabricating claims about compensation and resettlement, with the aim of inciting public frustration, provoking mass complaints, and disrupting public order.
A Hanoi Police photo shows manipulated content being shared online, including altered images and videos that falsely represent the clearance process. These materials are designed to sow division between the public and local authorities.
In reality, officials affirm that Hanoi’s land clearance procedures are being carried out transparently and in accordance with legal regulations. Compensation and resettlement policies are built on the principle of balancing the interests of the state, developers, and residents. Where challenges arise, local authorities have made efforts to engage with affected citizens through open dialogue and timely resolution within legal frameworks.
The Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division (PA05) of the Hanoi Police Department has urged the public to remain cautious and vigilant. Citizens are advised not to share, comment on, or spread unverified and provocative information online.
Residents with legitimate concerns or grievances regarding their rights are encouraged to contact government agencies via official communication channels, avoiding the risk of being misled or manipulated into unlawful behavior.
Hanoi Police emphasized that any action exploiting public issues to distort, incite, or defame government policies constitutes a threat to national security and social order. Such acts will be strictly prosecuted in accordance with the law.
