Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai province, has been disciplined and removed from her position as Deputy Secretary of the Nhon Trach District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On June 16, the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee issued a decision to discipline Ms. Huong. This decision followed a review and verification of her violations related to asset and income declarations, conducted by the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission.

The investigation revealed that Ms. Huong had been dishonest in declaring her assets and incomes. She failed to disclose the origin of undeclared money, evaded regulations, and did not provide complete documentation to the Verification Team.

Additionally, Ms. Huong engaged in actions that, while not illegal, negatively impacted her reputation and that of the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District.

Her violations were deemed serious, leading to public disapproval and tarnishing the prestige of the local government bodies she represented.

As a result of these findings, the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee decided to remove Ms. Huong from her position as Deputy Secretary of the Nhon Trach District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Earlier in March 2024, Ms. Huong reported a loss of more than 170 billion VND due to a group of scammers who used sophisticated methods to withdraw money from her account between March 3 and 11.
