This afternoon, at the headquarters of the Party Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam presided over the ceremony to announce and present the Politburo’s decision on the assignment, appointment, and designation of key officials.

Accordingly, Mr. Doan Minh Huan, member of the 14th Politburo and Standing Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, has been appointed Director of the Academy.

He also serves as Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for the Protection of the Party’s Ideological Foundation and the Fight Against Wrong and Hostile Views in the New Context; and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Summary Review of Theoretical and Practical Issues on Socialist-Oriented Reform in Vietnam over the Past 40 Years.

Born in 1971 in Ha Tinh province, Mr. Doan Minh Huan holds a PhD and the academic rank of Associate Professor. He is a member of the 14th Politburo and has served as a member of the 12th (alternate), 13th, and 14th Central Committees of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He received comprehensive professional training and has held numerous key positions, including 10 years as a lecturer before becoming Deputy Head and later Head of Department, then Deputy Director and Director of the Academy’s Regional Campus I. He also served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief, then Editor-in-Chief and Party Secretary of Communist Review, member of the Central Theoretical Council, and Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020–2025 term.

The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is a body under the direct, comprehensive, and regular leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee.

The Academy functions as the national center for training and fostering middle- and high-ranking leaders, managers, and political theory scholars of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and mass organizations. It is also a national center for training civil servants and public employees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and a leading institution for scientific research on Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, the Party’s reform policies, State laws, political science, public administration, leadership and management, and public governance.
