Accordingly, Mr. Le Minh Tri, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Standing Deputy Head of the Party's Central Internal Affairs Commission, has been appointed as Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.

He also serves as Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Practices; Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform; a member of the Subcommittee for Internal Political Protection of the Central Committee; and a member of the Steering Committee for the Summary Review of Theoretical and Practical Issues on Socialist-Oriented Reform in Vietnam over the Past 40 Years.

Born in 1960 in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Minh Tri holds degrees in People’s Security and Law. He is a member of the 14th Politburo, a Central Committee member for three consecutive terms (12th, 13th, and 14th), a member of the 13th and 14th Party Secretariats, and a National Assembly deputy for the 14th and 15th terms.

He began his career in the public security sector and later held various key positions at the local level, including Deputy Chief of Office of the HCMC People’s Council and People’s Committee, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of District 11, and later of District 1. In early 2010, he was appointed Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City.

After three years in that role, he was assigned by the Party Secretariat to serve as Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission for another three years before being elected Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

In August 2024, he was elected by the National Assembly as Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court.

In November 2025, he was reassigned and appointed as Standing Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.

The Party's Central Internal Affairs Commission is a strategic advisory body to the Central Committee, and directly and regularly to the Politburo and Secretariat, on major internal affairs policies including anti-corruption, anti-wastefulness, combating negative practices, and judicial reform. It also functions as the Party’s professional agency in charge of internal affairs, and serves as the standing body of both the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Practices and the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform.
