On February 27, the Dong Thap Provincial Security Investigation Agency arrested Doan Minh Tuan, 49, a resident of Tan Hong District, for allegedly producing, storing, and distributing materials that oppose the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He was detained under Article 117 of Vietnam’s Penal Code.

Following his arrest, police searched Tuan’s residence, seizing mobile phones, a tablet, and various documents related to the case.

According to the investigation, since February 2024, Tuan had been using his personal Facebook account to live-stream, post, and share content that distorted government policies, defamed state officials, and undermined the Communist Party’s leadership.

Authorities reported that Tuan consistently expressed opposition to the state, refused to cooperate with law enforcement, and continued his activities despite warnings. His posts and statements had become increasingly provocative, with a growing frequency of anti-state rhetoric.

Local residents, frustrated with Tuan’s actions, expressed strong support for law enforcement's decision to arrest and prosecute him.
